Description
A film that pioneered in breaking Hollywood's code of silence about anti-Semitism in America. Gregory Peck as a magazine writer pretending to be Jewish has an occasion to deliver to his secretary, who cannot believe that he is not Jewish, a speech that strongly echoes Shylock's famous speech beginning "Hath not a Jew eyes?" (3.1.59)
