Description
Made for television by the BBC. In the U.S.A., under the sponsorship of the NEH and Mobil Corporation, it was shown on PBS stations as a segment in the 13-part great plays series of Classic Theatre: Humanities in the Drama, at 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, 27 Sept. 1975. Both the producer and the director (Cedric Messina and John Gorrie) were to play a heavy role subsequently in the BBC Shakespeare series, shown in the United States as "The Shakespeare Plays." The Humanities series was produced by Joan Sullivan of Station WGBH-Boston for public television
