Skinner, Reverend James

James Skinner was an Anglican minister. Born in Scotland on 23 June 1818, Skinner began attending Durham University
when he was fifteen years old.1
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1837, along with George Hills, who would go on to become
the first Bishop of British Columbia.2
Skinner died on 29 December 1881, following a life one biographer described as a victory mainly through suffering.3
