Halfhide, George

George Halfhide Jr. is the son of George Halfhide Sr., a seal engraver from London who was the successor of John Barnes.1 In this despatch, Halfhide sent Governor Douglas an official Seal for the Supreme Court of Vancouver's Island as well as a Seal for the Customs Department of the Island. When Halfhide entered into his father's business, it became known as Halfhide & Son.
Halfhide married a woman named Mary, who was the daughter of a printer. Halfhide died
