Lowenberg to Cardwell
London, the
15th January 1866 To the Right Honble Edward Cardwell H.M. Secretary of State for the Colonies

Sir!
Being again on the point of leaving for Victoria, Vancouver Island, I wish to refer to a letter from the Colonial Office dated the 22nd November 1865 and addressed to Sir E.W. Head Bart etc. etc. in regard to a certain claim of mine to a piece of land known as Lot Z and lying in Victoria V.I. and would feel obliged if you could let me know, whether theManuscript image instructions given to Governor Kennedy of that Colony are such, as will give me possession of the Land and not allow him to use his influence and re-open this question which has given so much trouble and annoyance and caused me so much loss. I ask this as a matter of importance to me, as I was assured by some of the Officials at Victoria, that they would do every thing to keep me from ever getting possession of this Land.
I am Sir
with all due respect
your most obedt Sert
L. Lowenberg
