With reference to your Despatch No. 2 of the 2nd of January last, I have the honor to transmit to you a copy of a letter which I caused to be addressed to the Hudson's Bay Company, together with a copy of their reply with respect to the refusal of the Company's Representatives to afford the information requiredbyManuscript image by your Government on the subject of the Land Sales effected on their behalf.
