I have to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatches noted in the
margin,
No. 37. 14 June 1864, No. 38. 21 June 1864
and to transmit to you the enclosed copies of a correspondence which has
taken place relative to the sale and transfer to the Government of
Vancouver Island of
Fisgard Island situated in
Esquimalt Harbour.
I concur in the views expressed in
Mr. Walcott's Report, and as
Mr.
and
Mrs. Young are ready to execute any such conveyance of the Island as
the Local Government may think necessary, I should wish you to consult
with your law Adviser as to the form of this conveyance to whom the land
should be conveyed, and by whom it should be executed; and to prepare
the requisite Deeds
for for the execution of
Mr. and
Mrs. Young, when they
return to the colony.
