I have to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 24 of the
12th of May, in which you press for an early decision on the question of
the appointment of a successor to the present Chief Justice.
You will have received my Despatch No. 4 of the 12thof of May, to
which I beg to refer you as containing the answer to your present
communication.
