I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you, for the information of His Grace the Duke of Newcastle, that a Letter has been received from Rear Admiral Kingcome, dated 11th August, at Esquimalt, No 99, reporting that, as it appeared on the trial of the Lamalcha Indians, that all the principals concerned in the Murder of the SettlerMarksManuscript image Marks, and his daughter, were amongst those captured, the Governor had not considered it necessary to continue the Search and that the expedition against that Tribe, therefore, had not been undertaken.
I am,
Sir,
Your most obedient Servant,
