Romaine to Under-Secretary of State
I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to send you
herewith for the information of Her Majesty's Secretary of State for
the Colonies copy of a letter from Rear Admiral Kingcome dated 13th June 1863, No 55 & of its enclosures respecting the proceedings
against the Lamalcha Indians, & the capture of some [blank]

Rear Admiral John Kingcome to Secretary to the Admiralty, 13
June 1863, reporting the assistance given by the Admiralty in
arresting several of the murderers of Marks and his daughter, and
enclosing related correspondence.
Extracts, Commander E. Hardinge, HMS Cameleon, to Commodore J.W.
Spencer, 8 June 1863, reporting on the expedition against the
Lamalcha Indians which resulted in the arrest of some of the Indians
involved.

May 1863, reporting on the expedition against the Lamalcha Indians as
noted above.
List of "Indians of the Lamalcha Tribe detained and sent to
Victoria at the pleasure of H.E. the Governor," twenty-one names.
Douglas to Spencer, 29 May 1863, asking that after proceeding to
Cowichan to arrest the remaining five Lamalcha murderers, the ships
then proceed to Johnson's Straits and Bentinck's Arm in order to
arrest Indians accused of murder in those two locations.
