Sir,
The attention of the Secretary of State has been called by Mr
Pemberton to the circumstance that although since the termination of
his agreement with the Hudsons Bay Company he has continued to act
under the Colonial Government as Surveyor General

have given of Mr Pembertons zeal and ability is pleased to sanction
his appointment as Surveyor General, and desires me to transmit to you
the Royal Warrant
