the expenditure of £2000 for the construction of a barracks on San Juan Island.

Sir,
I have to acquaint you that the Lords Commissoners of the Treasury
have apprized me that Their Lordships have instructed the Paymaster
General to accept and pay a bill drawn by you for £2000 as signified in
your despatch No. 42 of the 27th of August last, for the erection of
barracks consequent upon
