Please note that the corresponding image scan for this despatch is from Colonial Office volume 410, a letterbook copy, the original of which does not appear in the original collection. Presumably, the transcription team were working from the original file, which is yet to be identified at this time.
Labouchere confidentially forwards the boundary commission instructions to Douglas.
Enclosed is a copy of Clarendon’s orders to Prevost concerning the boundary commision between British territories and the United States in the Pacific Northwest.

Sir,
With reference to my desp. of this day's date announcing the appointment of Captians Prevost & Richards to mark out a portion of the boundary line between GB & the United States, I transmit to you (confidentially & for your own information only) copy of the letter & accompanying paper of instructions addressed to those gentlemen by order of Lord Clarendon.
