Sir,
Despatches which have been lately received from you, embracing several subjects in the same communication, oblige me to remind you of Rule 157 in the Book of Colonial Regulations to which you have been already specially requested by the Duke of Newcastle to conforminManuscript image in your correspondence with the Secretary of State. [Marginal note: 17th Octr 1853.] Inattention to this rule being productive of considerable inconvenience in the transaction of business in this Office, I have to request that you will in future observe it.
