Sir,
With reference to your Despatch No. 41 of the 24th December last,
reporting the provisional appointment of Messrs. Francis Jones Barnard
and Amor de Cosmos to be Members of the Legislative Council of the
Colony of British Columbia, I have to acquaint you that, having
submitted the name of Messrs. Barnard and Cosmos to the Queen in
Council, Her Majesty has been pleased to approve their appointment.
I transmit to you herewith a Warrant, under the Royal Sign Manual,
authorizing you to appoint those Gentlemen to seats in that Council
accordingly.
