Sir,
With reference to your letter of the 10th ultimo, enclosing an Account prepared by the Auditor General of British Columbia, I beg leave to state, for the information of Earl Kimberley, that I have caused to be prepared a statement shewing, on one hand, the amounts paid by this Department for conveyance of mails to and from British ColumbiaduringManuscript image during the year 1869, and, on the other hand, the amounts paid by the Colonial Government.
The balance shewn by the Statement in question to be due to the Colonial Government is £580.15.2; and I have caused that amount to be placed to the credit of the Colony with the Crown Agents for the Colonies.
I enclose a copy of the Statement which I request may be transmitted to the Governor of British Columbia.
