My Lord,
I have the honor to enclose a Petition addressed to Her Majesty, by the British Columbia Cathedral Restoration Committee, which has been forwarded to me for transmissioninManuscript image in the letter of which I annex a copy.
2. The object of the Petitioners is to obtain assistance in rebuilding the Cathedral Church of Victoria, which was last year destroyed by fire. The purpose in view is praiseworthy, but knowing how many similar applications must be presented to Her Majesty, I feel myself somewhat at a loss forgroundsManuscript image grounds upon which to urge this one, as specially deserving Her Majesty's gracious consideration.
