Hammond transmits a despatch from Her Majesty's Minister at Washington, containing a Memorial presented to the American Senate regarding the boundary dispute with British Columbia. Cox’s minute discusses the action taken with the previous despatch discussing the boundary dispute with British Columbia and Washington territory.

Sir,
With reference to my letter of the 8th instant, I am directed by the Earl of Clarendon to transmit to you, for the information of Earl Granville a copy of a despatch from Her Majesty's Minister at Washington, inclosing a copy of the Memorial presented to the American Senate praying that they would not consent to the question of the water Boundary of British Columbia being submitted to arbitration.
