I am directed by the
Earl of Clarendon to transmit to you, to be
laid before
Earl Granville copy of a note from the Belgian
Minister, requesting that a document may be obtained from a
person named
Verheyden, supposed to be at
Victoria Victoria,
Vancouver's
Island, containing his consent to the marriage of his daughter,
or that, if he is dead, a certificate of his death may be procured.
If the required papers can be supplied they should be legalized
and the signature attached to them duly
verified verified and any
expences incurred will be repaid by the Belgian Legation.
