I have the honor to inform you that a Bill for £1500 drawn by
the Treasurer of
British Columbia for the maintenance of the Royal
Marines Stationed on
San Juan Island has been left at the Office of
the Paymaster General.
I have requested the
Lords Lords Commissoners of the Treasury to
authorize the payment of this Bill, but I have to point out to you
that no advice of its having been drawn has been received at this
Department although you stated in your Despatch No. 17 of the
10th of
March last that you would see that regular notice in future
accompanies every Bill drawn for the above purpose.
