Abstract
Despatch to London. Minutes (2), Enclosures (untranscribed) (5), Other documents (1).
Seymour forwards the Deed by which the Hudson's Bay Company reconveyed Vancouver Island to the Crown, and minutes by the Colonial Secretary and Attorney General. Seymour states that he will bring the matter before the Legislative Council at its next Session. Robinson’s minute states that Seymour forwarded the deed of reconveyance and asks for confirmation if the reconveyance deed should go to the record office. Blake’s minute suggests seeing subsequent 38/5395 March 12, 1869. Included documents discuss the requirements needed for an attested copy of the reconveyance deed to serve as evidence in court.

In obedience to the instructions conveyed in Your Grace's despatch No. 16 of 2nd March 1868, I have the honor to forward the Deed by which the Hudson's Bay Company reconveyed Vancouver Island to theCrown.Manuscript image Crown.
I add copies of Minutes which have passed between the Colonial Secretary and Attorney General on the subject.
3. I shall, as suggested by Your Grace, bring the matter before the Legislative Council at its next Session.
