I have the honor to inform you that the Paymaster General was
authorised in
July last to pay a Bill for £1,500, which had been left
at his Office, drawn by the Governor and Treasurer of
Vancouver
Island for pay etc of the Royal Marines stationed
on on
San Juan Island.
In the expectation of hearing from you on the subject I did not
communicate with you at the time, but I now have to point out to you
that this Bill has not been reported to this Department in
accordance with standing instructions.
