Buckingham transmits a letter from an Italian minister asking for information regarding Terro, an Italian man reported to have settled in Victoria. Buckingham requests Seymour to gather information regarding Terro to enable Buckingham to answer the Italian minister’s questions.

Sir,
I have the honor to transmit to you a Copy of a letter from the
Italian Minister at this court requesting information respecting an
Italian subject named Dominico Terro who is stated to have settled at
Victoria, Vancouver Island.

I have to request that you will furnish me with such information
as you may be able to obtain in answer to the enquiries of the
Marquis D'Azeglio.
