Sir,
With reference to your letter of the 10th instant, requesting that the necessary steps may be taken for the release of Lieutenant General Moncrieff from a Bond given by him as surety for Lieutenant Colonel Gossett, late Treasurer of British Columbia, I am directed by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of Mr Secretary Cardwell, that this Board has forwarded to Mr E.S. Carr a certificate signed by two of Their Lordships to the effect that the Bond entered into by Captain Gosset on the 28th of October 1858, as Treasurer of ColumbiahasManuscript image has been satisfied.
The Bond itself has also been forwarded to Mr Carr.
