Sir,
I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to request you will state to the Secretary of State for the Colonies that the undermentioned provisions, representing a value of Seven pounds twelve shillings and eight pence, are claimed in the Victualling account of HM's Gun-boat "Forward" for Christmas Quarter 1864, as having been supplied byorderManuscript image order of the Commander in chief, for the use of the Volunteers in British Columbia who were tracking Indian Murderers; and as it does not appear that these articles have been paid for, my Lords would wish to be informed if there is any objection to the value being charged against the Colonial Office
