I have the honor to forward an authenticated and two plain
copies of an Ordinance of the recent Session of the Legislature
of this Colony, entitled;
No. 8 An Ordinance authorizing the sale of theReal Real Estate
of Intestates.
I add the Report of the Attorney General.
2. This Ordinance had its origin in representations made by
Mr Justice Begbie whose Minute on the subject I enclose.
3. The Bill passed through the Legislature without opposition
and was submitted to me for approval, I however considered it
advisable to require a clause to be inserted suspending the
operation of the Ordinance untilHer Her Majesty's pleasure be known.
I have the honor to be,

Your most obedient
humble Servant Arthur N. Birch
Sanction—observing that the Court will of course take
steps to secure that the money received by the persl
representative is not made away with by him. It appears to
me that the purchasers title ought not to be complete till
the AccounttGenl has recd the purchasers money.
