Sir,
With reference to the British Columbia Government 6 per cent
debentures advertized in the Public Papers, I beg to request that I
may be informed if the same is still open for purchase and if money
invested will bereturned

You will see by the enclosed that Mr Wiber has been in
communication with this office respecting B. Columbia Debentures, and
you will see the answer I sent to him.
If in your place I should tell him that he can doubtless have
Debentures on application at the Crown Agents Office, and that they
can be willed away in a similar manner
to any other investment, and
that the principal and interest of the B. Columbia Loan is a charge
on the Revenues of that Colony.
