With reference to your letter of the 
18 of September
                  last, and its Enclosure from the Governor of 
British Columbia,
               on the subject of the claim upon that Colony for £10704.16.7
               for the cost of the buildings erected for the Corps of Royal
               Engineers I am desired by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's
               Treasury to acquaint you, for the information of 
M Secretary
                  Cardwell, that Their Lordships are not prepared to consent to
               any further postponement of the repayment of the sum in question.
               
               My Lords have lately received
a
 a communication from the Crown
               Agents reporting that they are prepared to pay this sum, and directions
               have been given to the Pay Master General to receive it accordingly.
