               I have the honor to forward Copy of an interesting and highly
               satisfactory letter received from 
M John Ogilvy, the Constable
               and Collector of Customs at 
Bella Coola, 
North Bentinck Arm.

               M Ogilvy held the second Command in 
M Cox's Volunteer
               force after 
M MLean was shot by the Indians, and was
               appointed to his present post by myself.
               
 
            
            
               2. It is gratifying to see how well placed has been the
               mercy which 
M Brew extended to , the Chief of the
               Western Branch of the Chilicoten tribe and how sore pressed
               are the murderers still at large.
