Cardwell informs Seymour that the Queen confirms An Ordinance to declare the lawful rate of interest in the Colony.

Sir,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 11 of the 3rd of June, accompanied by an Ordinance passed by the Legislature of British Columbia on the 4th of May last, and entitled No. 11 "An Ordinance to declare the lawful rate of interest in the Colony."

I have laid this Ordinance before the Queen, and I am commanded to acquaint you that Her Majesty has been pleased to confirm and allow it.
You will communicate Her Majesty's decision to the inhabitants of the Colony in the usual manner.
