Despatch from London.
Newcastle writes Douglas to inform him that Ramage's letter of complaint concerning the structure of government in British Columbia has been received and to request that Douglas share this acknowledgement with Ramage.

I have the honor to acquaint you that I have received direct from Mr. John Ramage, President of the Municipal Council of New Westminster, a Duplicate of the Memorial, the Original of which was forwarded to me in your despatch No. 33 of the 28th of July, praying for a ResidentGovernorManuscript image governor in British Columbia and that Representative Institutions may be granted to the Colony.
I have to request that you will inform the Memorialists that I have duly received their Petition.
