With reference to my Despatch No. 123 of the 13th of May I have the honor to transmit to you for your information and guidance a copy of a letter which has this day been received from the Board of Treasury relative to the mode of adjusting the financialquestionsManuscript image questions between Her Majesty's Government and the Colony of British Columbia, and to your proposal for raising a loan with a view to the improvement of the Colony.
You will now be at liberty to provide for the negociation of such a loan to the extent of £50,000inManuscript image in the manner pointed out by the Board of Treasury, and I have to instruct you to use your utmost endeavors to effect the repayment of the various sums due to the Imperial Treasury within the specified time.
