I have the honor to transmit to you an extract from a Report of the
Colonial Land and Emigration Commissioners on the subject of a
Company
which has been recently formed for the purpose of forwarding emigrants
through
Canada overland to
British Columbia.
I concur generally in the views expressed by the Commissioners, and
although I do not consider the direct interference of H.M.'s Government
to be necessary, I am desired to call your attention to this
Company, in
order that their proceedings may be entitled for the purpose
of ascertaining whether their engagements with their Emigrants are carried
out in Good faith.
