Abstract
Despatch from London.
Newcastle requests that Douglas explain why the Attorney General's report on certain Proclamations then forwarded to me [Southern Boundary Act, Country Land Act 1861, Pre-emption Amendment Act 1861, and an act which provides for remissions in the purchase of lands in British Columbia, to Officers of the Royal Army and Navy, on the same conditions as in Her Majesty's other Colonies where those advantages have not been discontinued] had not been sent.

In your despatch No. 27 of the 23rd of April you informed me that the Attorney General's report on certain Proclamations then forwarded to me would be transmitted by a future opportunity. The report has not yet reached me, and I have the honortoManuscript image to request that you will acquaint me with the reason why it has not been sent.
