                     Treasury are about to recover a sum of £4000 from the War
                     Office on account of the Regimental pay of the Engineers,
                     and it may perhaps be as well therefore to keep this claim
                     back for a week or two to give them time to do this. I annex
                     a memo which, I believe shews the present position of the
                     accounts between the Colony & the Treasury.
