With reference to your Letter of yesterdays date requesting to be furnished with a statement of all expenses incurred by this Department for the transport of Royal Engineers and Stores to British Columbia, and for the passages to Colon of Persons connected with the Colony, I beg to transmit the accompanying Return; observing, however, that it is only an "Estimate" of the expense that will be incurred, as no Accounts have been receivedManuscript imagereceived from the Ships, nor with the Exception of Advances on the "Thames City" and Euphrates have any payments been made.
