Moody requests that a Volunteer Hospital orderly, from the Medical Staff Corps, accompany
the detachment of Royal Engineers destined for British Columbia.
The minutes recommend this action to the War Office.
Enclosed is a draft from Carnarvon to the War Office recommending compliance with Moody’s request; and a draft from the Colonial Office to Moody advising that a hospital orderly had been recommended.

Sir,
I have the honor to request that a Volunteer Hospital orderly
be obtained from the "Medical Staff Corps" to accompany the
Detachment of Royal Engineers proceeding to British Columbia. It
is hoped that great care will be taken in the selection as only
one is requested.
There is no man in the Detachment of RE suitable for the
situation. He should receive orders to embark in the "Thames City."
