- The emphatic pronouns are used as predicates, meaning "It is me / I" and so on:
'een'thu "I" "It is me / I." nuwu "you" "It is you." nilh "he, she, it" "It is him.","It is her.", etc. lhnimulh "we" "It is us." lhwulup "you (pl.)" "It is you (pl)." ne'ullh "they" "It is them."
- Use the emphatic pronouns for identifying people:
'Een'thu Mary. "I'm Mary." Nilh 'u John? "Is he John?" Nilh John. "He's John." Lhnimulh Lhqelts'tun 'i' Kwasun. "We are Lhqelts'tun and Kwasun." Nuwe 'u Mary? "Are you Mary?"
- Pronunciation tip: You may pronounce nuwu and 'u as nuwe 'u, "Is it you?" It is written that way in the last example sentence above, although it could have been written as Nuwu 'u Mary?
