Possibly related to Elizabeth Crompton. Pigot 1841, lists James Crompton's with the phrase 'executors of the late' thus implying he was dead by 1841and says that the manager of Collyhurst was James Greaves - 'executors of the late Mr James Crompton', home - Oldham road.
