Ritorno’ il Re’ quattro giorni sono nella Citta’ per tenervi le feste di Natale, doppo
le quali secondo la consuetudine di questo Regno spendono alcuni giorni in qualche
trattenimento, et pero’ si trova la Maesta’ sua et la Corte tutta al presente occupata in essi, et nell’ apparecchio del balletto
della Regina, la quale mette molto studio per farlo corrispondere all’ aspettazione
che ne è concepita.

The king
came back to
London
four days ago to celebrate Christmas here. It is customary in this kingdom to spend
a few days after Christmas day on entertainments. Thus his Majesty and his court are
at the moment involved in the festivities and in staging the queen
’s masque. She is giving it great attention in order that it may meet expectations.
