I deliverd your Majes ties commaunds to my lord of Duchester, who wit h most humble thanks acknowledges the effect of them, which gave him power to sitt vp that night at the queenes Maske wherof he sends your Majestie this coppie.

my lord of Carliele on shroue: tuseday was made Groome of the stoole which was a while given out he did not desire; but if he had refused it, Mr Maxfill who returnd out of France but a day before tis thought would haue accepted it. he and my lor d Treasurers sonnes came then to court full of the tourmoyles in France , which yett would not by the queene be beleeved, till her Maske was solemnis'd, bycause she had no particular advertisements of them.
