Preparations for the masque, reported in a dispatch sent
home by the Tuscan agent
Amerigo Salvetti
on 27 [i.e. 17] Dec. 1630. It belongs to
a parchment bound collection of letters written 3 Jan. 1628-26 Dec. 1632.
Queste maesta’ continuano con ottima salute, et il Re ua’ preparando un’ suo
Balletto da farsi nelle loro feste di natale.
Translation
Their Majesties continue to be in the best
of health. The king
is preparing a masque, which is to be given at Christmas time.
