, dated 10 January 1631. The letter appears in the
third of three volumes of miscellaneous historical letters collected and transcribed
by
Thomas Birch (1705-66); vol. 3 contains letters dating from 21
June 1608 to 10 July 1641.

There was a letter deliuered to the Earl of Carlisle from an unknown hand to this
effect;
"Rt honourable, Your Lordship being in so great grace& fauour with his
Majesty, should do an acceptable seruice to moue him, that no more masks should
be upon the Lord's Day, but on some other Days, &c."
