Plans for the Queen’s masque, in a dispatch, dated 6 Jan. 1604 [i.e. 27
Dec. 1604] , sent home by the Florentine agent Ottaviano Lotti.

La Maesta della Regina, se ben grauida di
qualche mese, ha ordinato un balletto, dove interuerra’ la persona sua aballarlo,
che
sara’ di molta spesa.
Translation
The Queen, even though she is several months pregnant, has commanded a masque at which
she
will dance. It will be very costly indeed.
