Translation

Two masques have been performed at court these last days. One was by the Prince , to which only the previously mentioned Spanish ambassador was invited. He sat next to the King and received every honour, along with the Flemish agent who, however, did not have a place appointed for him. The other masque was given by some young gentlemen. Only the ambassadors of the States were present, but they were placed above in a box. In truth they have been given very few honours, and their negotiations have been prolonged and troubled, as they have not seen the king a second time nor received any answer, though they asked for a prompt despatch of the proposal which they laid before the Council.
