Preparations for the repeat of
News from the New World
, and for

's first tilt, reported in a dispatch sent home by the
Venetian ambassador
Girolamo Lando, dated 6 March [i.e.

letters written between 6 March 1620-26 Feb. 1621, and is numbered 47 in the top left
corner. It occupies four pages (extract on p. 1).
qualche giorno all' incontro. Sara' il primo suo publico, et
sollennne combattimento.
Translation
They are rehearsing the same masque which was performed by
the Prince
some days ago. He is practising for the tilt in a few days. It will be his first
public and solemn joust, although it seems that many lords of the Council are humbly
trying to dissuade him, worried by the risks he would take and solicitous for his
life.
