The frenchmen are gon after theyre great entertainment, which was too great for such pettie companions, specially that of the Lord Hayes which stoode him in more then 2200 li
, beeing rather a profusion and spoyle then reasonable or honorable prouision, as
you may guesse at the rest by this scantling, of seuen-score feasants, twelue partridges
in a dish thoroughout, twelue whole samons, and whatsoeuer els that cost or curiositie
could procure in like superfluitie: besides the workemanship and inuentions of thirtie
master cookes for twelue dayes. but the yll lucke was that the cheife and most desired
guest was away for the younge Lady
Sidney
with her sister the Lady Lucie Percie going some two or three dayes before the feast
to visit theyre father in the towre, after some fewe caresses he dismissed his daughter
Sidney
to go home to her husband, and to send her sisters maides to attend her, for that
he meant not to part with her but that she shold kepe him companie, adding withall that he was a Percie and could not indure that his daughter shold daunce any
Scottish giggs, and there she continues for ought I heare.
