Eighteenth-century transcription of the diary of Lady
Anne Clifford
, entries relating to 6 Jan. and 19 Jan. 1617. (The seventeenth-century original does
not
survive.)
[unfoliated]
Upon the 6th being Twelfth Day I went about 4 o'clock to the Court with my Lord. I
went up with my Lady Arundel and eat a scrambling Supper
with her & my Lady
Pembroke
at my Lord Duke's Lodgings - we stood to see the Mask in
⎡the box with⎤ my Lady Ruthven.
[19 Jan.]
This night the Mask was danced at the Court but I would not stay to see it because
I had seen it
already.
