Warrants to Meredith
Morgan for charges relating the masque, dated 28
December 1611 and 30 January 1612. Morgan was a
former official in the household of
George, Earl of Dunbar
. He then became one of the servants of the Exchequer, distributing funds for
masques.

Iames &c. To the Treasurer and
Vndertreasurer of our Exchequer greetinge. Whereas wee haue appointed
a Maske to bee performed in our Court this Christmas for the honour and
recreacion of us and our Court Wee will and require you out of our Treasure in
the receipt of our Exchequer to pay or cause to bee paid the somme of two hundred
poundes to Meredith morgan
to be issued for the performance thereof. The same to bee taken vnto him without Accompt
imprest or other Charge to bee sett uppon him for the same. And theise our letters
shalbee your sufficient warrant and Discharge in that behalfe. Giuen vnder our priuie
Seale at our Pallace of Westminster the eight and twentieth day of
December in the ninth yeare of our Raigne of
England

are informed that there is the somme of Fowerscore pounds Due for the Charge of the
late
Maske performed at Christmas last past which wee are pleased to allowe, Theis are to will &
requier yow out of such our treasure as remaineth in the receipt of
our Exchequer to paie or cause to bee paied to our Welbeloued Meredith Morgan the said
somme of fowerscore
pounds to bee by him paied ouer to such persons as the same is Due vnto without accompt
imprest or other Charge to bee sette uppon him or them for the same or anie
par t thereof. And theis our letteres
&c. Giuen Vnder our priuie seale at our pallace of
Westminster the thirtieth day of Ianuary in the ninth yeare of
