dispatch, numbered 50, occupies pp. 327-31 (extract on pp. 329-30) in a parchment
bound
collection of letters ranging 4 March 1610-11 Feb. 1611.
Hora Sua Maestà fa’ instanza, che gli siano concessi gli ordinarij sussidij con
pensiero di licentiar il detto Parlamento.
...
Per questo solo rispetto si è ella fermata in Londra tre giorni
oltre il suo dissegno. Partirà sabbato per Roiston et con lei anderà anco il Principe
per due sole settimane,
<douendo ritornare>a’ metter’in ordine un balletto deliberato per
il prossimo Natale. haverebbe più tosto desiderato di
rappresentar questa mascherata a’ cauallo, se hauesse potuto ottener l’ assenso del
Re’.
Translation
The King
now asks for the ordinary subsidies with the intention of dissolving Parliament.
Only on this account has he stayed in
London
three days longer than he planned. He will leave for Royston on Saturday.
The Prince
will go with him for two weeks only as he must come back to arrange a masque over
Christmas. He would have
liked to perform this masque on horseback, if he had been able to obtain the King
’s consent.
